It is no surprise that Mel Gibson's movie; "The Passion of the Christ" broke box office records around the world and is currently the #1 grossing film of all time with more than $611 million worldwide against a $25 million budget, becoming one of the most prolific and profitable R-rated films in history. Many big movie companies avoided the production of this film at all costs and the added fact that Passion of the Christ came with an R-rating, it was surprising to most in Hollywood that this film epic made as much impact and money as it did.
It is no surprise that Mel Gibson would bring back the the talented film’s star, Jim Caviezel as Jesus and he is very much on board with director Mel Gibson's plan to shoot a sequel to The Passion of the Christ. Caviezel confirmed he will reprise his role as Jesus in the planned film about the resurrection of Christ. "There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience," he says. "It's great. Stay tuned."
The Passion of the Christ - the Second Coming is promising to deliver a dramatic and prophetic historical reference to the greatest story ever told and one of the largest blockbuster films ever made. While most movie watchers of faith based films remain hopeful for a 2020 release, at the moment, there are no definite dates for the debut. For now, audiences will be on left waiting to speculate about the films release and I am quite confident that Gibson's latest film will leave us on the edge of our seats and quite possibly on our knees. I am looking forward to this movie more than ever. A movie of hope, transformation and redemption is what our broken world needs.
